Last month I brought my grand dad to Sanpoutei Ramen at Orchard for ramen. It's below the Isetan Scotts. Very popular place. My grandad was shocked at the price at around $19- per bowl! He was telling me during his 'time' (long ago) noodles was only like 30 cents per bowl , crazy right?
Anyway he did enjoy the noodles. However when he got home, he complained to my parents, his friends, my uncles & aunties, well almost everyone about the cost ...lol...
Then yesterday I was around there & as I looked into the restaurant, there he was with his friend, both happily sipping the noodles ....lol... So glad he enjoy the place. I love my grandad !
A student's life
We worry about our future careers, Banking seems to be my group's favourite industry, some students engage in strange things like planking, milking & porting, others confess online-a lot! Some like me are conscious of our looks, we even go for the Vit C whitening jabs @ Parsons Medical !!!

Singapore's greatest pride: Joseph Schooling ! We love you!
You would not believe how happy I was when Joseph Schooling won the Gold for the 100 meters Butterfly at the 2016 Summer Olympics Games at Rio de Janeiro. Everyone of us were so proud of him. Our sms went non-stop. It's like we won too. In a way we did. Yay !!!!
It goes to show 1 thing, we do not need foreign talent. Besides many of them go back to their homeland anyway. But can't blame them though, put yourself in their position, you'll do the same as well. The amount of money that went to 'attract' these foreign talent could have been used to support our own. Joseph Schooling's parents, Colin & May supported him unconditionally.
Another thing came to mind, if we were to have given more support to Ang Peng Siong, one of our most celebrated swimmer super star, he could have brought back a Gold too. By the way Mr Ang Peng Siong was my dad's favorite swimmer. When Schooling won, my dad went non-stop about how talented he was. Dad & him went to the same school, dad was his senior ...haha... that explains the sentiment.
Below is my favorite picture of all the pictures that has been floating around since Schooling won. A picture speaks a thousand words:)

My Grandad and his "girl friends" ....lol...
Grandad finally got his handphone. He loved taking pictures now. He took pictures of all his friends at the kopi tiam this morning. Selfies too.
It's so cute. We were combing through his pictures & mum saw a few pictures of some women we don't recognized & she raise her concerns. My dad thought my mum is being paranoid. My mum cited incidences of older men being conned of all their savings by some women. Mum device a plan to monitor grandad's movements at the kopi tiam. I volunteer as a make-shift "PI" - my life is getting a little boring at this point.
Dad said he'll ask grandad about these women. And all of us simultaneously shouted "NO !!!!!!" at him ....lol... How could he let the cat out of the bag? He thought we were crazy. My younger brother said grandad also has his needs ...lol.. My mum glared at him as if he has just spoken the "unspeakable''.
At that point, my uncle called dad to check if we are game to go JB with his family this weekend. Dad, immediately revealed our covert plans to him! My uncle said we needed to consult my aunt in Hong Kong as she's better versed in such things. Soon my dad (& I assume my uncle too) was texting HKG for 'expert advice '. What makes her an expert? Apparently she had caught her HKG father-in-law with a lady from China just last year.
Wow... by now my brother is updating his girl friend about what's happening, my mum is updating her siblings & her friends as well. I check on my grandad, he's innocently editing the pictures he took this morning. I had taught him how to do it a while ago.
Will continue....

Tracking devices
I wanted to get my grandad a hand phone because last weekend when we were shopping at Ion, he wandered away & we had a hard time looking for him. Finally we found him outside LOUIS VUITTON . I ask him what he's doing there. He said he got lost, so he figured the place we most likely go to is the LOUIS VUITTON boutique. My dad laughed but mum was fuming. She said grandad is implying she spend too much on bags.
But the bigger question here is, why hasn't grandad gotten a handphone? Well my grandad didn't want one & never would. He called them 'tracking devices' & he refused to be "tracked". Mum said he is watching too much CSI & NCSI TV series ...lol.. Well guess who's getting a new handphone next week, it's his birthday !

If I'm a rich girl.....
What do you do when you are in the middle of finals & tense as hell?
We started talking about what we'd do with a vast, Forbes Top Ten, silly unforgivable amount of money. Our List.
1. Change the world, Bill & Melinda Gates style.
2. Buy over Pulau Ubin, do it up Michael Jackson style & invite friends over.
3. Buy over MRT & do it up proper & give free rides to people every weekend!
4. Set fire to it in front of Donald Trump & enjoy the look on his face!

Owndays: quick ,trendy & affordable glasses
I need to get a new pair of glasses. I lost my favorite pair. Went to Owndays @ 313 with a group of my friends yesterday & within half an hour I got 2 pairs ! I love this place. They have so many designs & it's almost instant. We went for lunch & after that, it's ready !
Since when getting glasses is so easy & fast? Even my mum is impressed! My whole family & all my friends get their glasses here now! The best part is it's not even expensive & the sales are nice! Well try going to your neighborhood stores. The last time I have to spend at least $500- for a pair & I have to wait for a few days!
I think this Owndays is killing the competition with their low price, trendy products & superb good location ! You want to look great @ a affordable price? I totally recommend Owndays glasses !!!

I love this pic ..lol... |
Yup get to shop for new clothes too. Tradition must be followed:)) Red or pink, naturally. I love this tradition. A couple of years back, we went all 'oriental' & wore all kinds of traditional Chinese cheongsum- that was fun. The kiddy clothes are the cutest.
Love letters aka egg rolls are a must too. Sigh.... I'll probably end up heavier after ...lol.. it'll be worth it :))
