Students in Singapore are not adventurous???

A classmate (non-local) made that comment awhile ago & we have been passionately debating on that ever since.

One recurring argument is we don't travel enough on our own. Rather our travels are mostly with parents or to hereby places like Bkk or Hong Kong with a tour,  or free & easy packages. We dont back pack or rough it out in hostels or YMCAs. We usually stay in nice hotels. OK now we have budget airlines but that's about as adventurous as we get!!!!......... lol.... well, have to admit there's some truth to it.

For that matter none of my friends have back pack to anyway not even to Bukit Timah....lol....

Overseas students often travel cheaply by volunteering (e.g. archaeological digs- that's so interesting right????? we'll never have that kind of chance here!!!!). Or teaching English, or working at organic farms or whatever.

Local parents.... e.g mine (...lol....)  will never allow me to do any of these, & certainly not back pack across Europe!!! It's dangerous!!!!! I rest my case!

    You are wrong !!! I went to Bukit Timah hill once!!!! lol....

    But why backpack if we can travel in luxury???? lol.....

      Hmmm.... you really know me.... was liotering around for awhile at the bottom, then decided to go up & totally regreted that...lol.....
      My leg muscles ache like a week!
      Dont understand those people who climb Mt Everest!

      That's a good one, I almost forgot!!!!
      For "our" standard, that should be considered....lol....
      That means we are pretty adventurous!!!!

    I read your post with interest, today's world is different from the past. Look at all the recent crimes that has been committed especially 'rape' cases, it's better to be safe than sorry.
